

It reads more like an instruction manual for the novice jumper, plus I was left searching for the relevance of the chapter to the story. A chapter is devoted to the dos and don'ts for parachute jumping.

Horse management has too much detail for everyone except perhaps a totally dedicated horse fanatic. Namely the intricacies of pruning a hedge are related in intricate detail. I do have one problem with the novel and that is it the excessive and unnecessary technical information provided.

The novel has obviously been written by a well researched knowledgeable author. This novel is written in an easy to read language, the numerous conversations are natural and believable. Was it murder or even suicide? What could the motive be? As the title suggests this novel's plot is solving an unexplained death of an elderly owner of horses.
